Vonda Kaye Tracy, age 55, of Smithfield, PA passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Vonda was born on July 20, 1969, in Richmond, Virginia to Dewvaul W. Jr. and Sandra Epps Tracy.  She was the youngest of two children. The family moved to Pennsylvania in 1970.  Vonda was affectionately known as Cowski by family and friends.  She graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 1988.  At an early age, she gave her life to Christ at the Beulah Baptist Church in Smithfield.  For a brief period as a youth, Vonda was a member of Second Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant where she was in the choir.  Upon her return to Beulah Baptist Church, Vonda was active in the in the following ministries: Sunday School, Choir, Junior and Women’s Missionary Society and Soundboard Engineering.

Vonda attended Norfolk State University before embarking on her twenty-five plus year odyssey at Giant Eagle, Store #59, in Morgantown, WV where she worked in various capacities as a cashier.

Vonda was a beloved member of her community and family.  She was known for her direct demeanor, dry sense of humor, willingness to help others, love of travel, love of parades, and love of attending the Norfolk State University homecoming activities annually, (more so than her brother). 

Vonda was preceded in death by grandparents: Thomas H. Sr. and Annie Jiggetts Epps, Dewvaul W. Sr. and Susan Corinne Hart Tracy; uncle, Raymond Tracy; cousins: Thomalyn Epps, Telsha Tracy, and Timothy Tracy Jr. 

Vonda leaves to celebrate her life, her parents: Dewvaul W. Jr. and Sandra E. Tracy; brother, Dewvaul Tracy III (Cherice) of Chesterfield, VA; niece, Mikala Tracy of Bremerton, WA; nephew/Godson, Dewvaul Tracy IV of Chesterfield, VA; godparents: Thomas H. Epps Jr. and Brenda Dyson Robinson; cousin/Goddaughter, Marissa Tracy Reid; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Friends will be received at the LANTZ Funeral Home, Inc., 197 E. Main St., Uniontown, PA on Friday, May 16th from 5 -8 PM. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 10 -11 AM; the funeral will begin at 11 AM and interment will immediately follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Smithfield, PA.
