Virginia (Haynes) Anderson

Virginia Anderson, daughter of the late Robert Haynes Sr. and Alice Richardson and step-mother Jennie Haynes, was born March 13, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY. She departed this earthly life Sunday October 1, 2017 at her home in Uniontown, PA.

While in Brooklyn, she worked in retail and also sang in night clubs. In October 1971, Virginia and her two children relocated to Uniontown, PA where she worked in the cleaning industry and from there to a personal care worker for service  to the senior citizens.

At the age of 26, she accepted the Lord as her personal savior. The Lord spoke to her to join Mallory Chapel (now Signal of Light) where she was more than glad to do the work of the church and to be a blessing in anyway she could. She became a Sunday School Teacher, a Superintendent of Sunday School, a member of the choir, a soloist, a member of the usher board and eventually an Evangelist and Minister of the Word.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Robert Haynes Jr., her sister Josephine Haynes and her daughter Olana D. Anderson.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Rev Owen D. Anderson; children, Sheila B. Hilliard (Sylvester) of Clairton, Pa, Robert L. Bryant Jr. of Nashville, Tn, Carla Ann Farmer (Frankie) of Sicklerville, Nj, Owen Derrick Anderson (Carol) of Nc; siblings, Theresa Hunt of Ga, Lotha J. Moore of The Bronx, Ny, Ronald Haynes of The Bronx, Ny, Yolanda Haynes of Brooklyn, Ny, Jennifer Haynes of Brooklyn, Ny; grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Latisha, Jason, Robert Jr., Raechelle, Ashley, Tarelle, Shavonte, Allen, Evan, Akeya, Isaiah, Chanelle, Kara, Olivia, Matthew, Marissa, Tyson; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 god-children, Mario, Jacquila, Kelsea; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
