Troy Bernard Mannery

Troy Bernard Mannery, 56, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023, in his home. Troy was born on September 9, 1967, in Uniontown Hospital, son of the late Larry Mannery and Stella Mannery.  

Troy was a graduate of German Township Senior High School, where he excelled as an athlete in football, baseball, and wrestling.  

Troy enlisted in the US Navy for 4 years including a tour of duty in the Persian Gulf War.  

After honorable discharge, he fathered two children, Ashlyn Mitchell (Cody) and Brandon Shaffer, both of whom made him incredibly proud.  

Unfortunately, he struggled to cope with all he had seen and experienced while serving and the transition back to civilian life. The years that followed were not easy for him or his family, but he overcame the hard times later in life achieving recovery, stability, and success.  

He obtained his CDL and became a cross-country freight truck driver.  

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Maurice Mannery.  

Left to cherish his memory are his mother; two children; grandson, Weston Shaffer; siblings: Jerry Mannery (Kathy Perry) and Wanda Mannery of Ford Heights, IL, Della Craig of Uniontown, PA, Samuel Mannery (Kelly) of Greensboro, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, October 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the hour of service, at Lantz Funeral Home, Inc., 297 E. Main Street, Uniontown.  Interment will immediately follow at Edenborn Cemetery, in Edenborn, PA.
