Roy E. Jones, Jr.

Roy E. “Jumbo” Jones, Jr., age 78, of Uniontown passed away peacefully at home , Friday, October 11, 2024 with his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Jane (Early) Jones by his side. He was born September 22 , 1946 in Uniontown to the late Roy E. Jones and the late Dorothy (Calloway) Jones. 

Roy was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Navy and employed with Latrobe Construction and Walmart. He served as an Usher and Trustee for Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Jumbo loved to read, fish, camp, and he assisted in raising over 22 foster children. 

Roy leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Mary Jane; daughters: Sharon Jones and Lisa Jones; three step-children whom he raised: Robert Curry, Theresa Curry- Nicolette, and Clark ( Fee) Curry; granddaughters whom he raised: Jessica Curry -Jones and Janai Curry;   10 grandchildren; two special nephews: Marcus and Gregory Early; special niece, Esther Green Miller; and other relatives. 

Friends will be received at the LANTZ Funeral Home, Inc., 297 E Main St, Uniontown, PA on Thursday, October 17th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral will be on Friday, October 18th at 
11:00 AM with Rev. Marvin Harris eulogizing. Interment will immediately follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery in Uniontown.
