Philip C. Wheeler Obituary

Philip C. Wheeler, 76, of Uniontown, Pa passed away at the Uniontown Hospital on January 23, 2019.  He was born on October 1, 1942 in Brownsville, Pa to the late Clarence Sr. and V. Genevieve (Hall) Wheeler.

Philip graduated from Brownsville  High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army.  After his honorable discharge in 1970, Philip enrolled at California State College where he received his B.A. Degree in Liberal Arts.  He was then employed  by the DPA as a Caseworker until his retirement.  Philip enjoyed reading and listening to jazz.  He had a large collection of rare books; and he was a horologist/watch enthusiast who collected many watches.  He loved his family and even though he was younger, he looked over his older sisters.


Philip is predeceased by his parents, and siblings: Susan E. Dobson, Charles E. Wheeler, and Clarence W. Wheeler, Jr.


He leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters: Sandra L. McElroy of Harrisburg, Pa, Rena Ann (Lawrence) Curry of Uniontown, Pa, and T.Kay (Ralph) Mensah of Washington, D.C.; special sister-in- law, Vernell Wheeler of Rockville, Md; and nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
