Patricia “Patty” Lee Hairston, 86, of Uniontown, PA passed away peacefully at Mt. Macrina Nursing Home on July 25, 2026. She was born November 7, 1939, in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Jesse Yates and the late Beatrice Yates.

Patty was employed by Bell Telephone Company in Uniontown. She did other jobs too while she raised her four children.

Patty was a woman of great strength! Her children were inspired by her heart, fortitude, wit, and faith. In their eyes, she was a wonderful and loving mother who took great care of her family. Patty will forever be in the hearts of all of us who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold J. Hairston, Sr.; daughter, Tammy Simpson; and brother, Patrick Yates.

Patty leaves to cherish her memory her children: Robin Bentley of Miami, FL, Harold J. “Jerry” Hairston, Jr. and wife, Sheila of Clarksville, TN, Heath L. Hairston, Sr. and wife, Mary of Menifee, CA; grandchildren: Nicole, Twyman III, Rodney, Jr., LeMoine, Shay, Jereken, Mahaylie, Patrisha, Stanley, Kent, Heath, Jr., and Heather; great-grandchildren: Nicolette, Natalie, Bryce, Shawna, Shawnti, Jaida, Jaila, Jiovanni, Jaziya, Jordan, Kameo, Damajh, India, Aleiya, Jayda, Josiah, Jenix, Jrue, and Kent II; siblings: Jack Yates and wife, Paula, and Donald Yates and wife, Kathleen.
