Mary Lee Baker, age 94, of Uniontown, PA passed away on January 13, 2025, in Butler, PA. She was born in Bunker Hill, PA on May 3, 1930, to the late Enoch and Lucy (Jackson) Bailey. Mary was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mary graduated from Redstone Township High School and worked for 20 years as a data processer in the telecom industry while living in New Jersey with her husband of 53 years, Tom Baker. They later moved to New Salem, PA and Mary joined the Union Baptist Church, and led the congregation as Pastor for over 20 years. She also was the moderator for the YWBA for some time.
Mary had a love for God and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 14. She enjoyed helping others, sewing, crocheting, and reading and listening to scripture. She was a caregiver for her family members and volunteered at Community Action and Meals on Wheels.
Mary was thoughtful and kind. She had a pleasant disposition and was always willing to pray for others. She would often give more than she had and always wanted to be of help. In her last gift to others, she donated her body to science so that others may suffer less from illnesses in the future.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her siblings: James, Lonnie, Williams, Ed, Lois, Betty, and Edith.
She is survived by her sons: Paul Baker and wife, Rondi, of Butler, PA and John Baker of South Carolina; grandchildren: Whitley, Jessica, Ciara, Aliyah, and Jonathan; other relatives and friends.
