Mary Jane (Early) Jones

Mary Jane (Earley) Jones was born on December 1, 1940 in Fairchance, PA and departed this life to be with her Lord on January 18, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the last of her siblings. She was born to the late Robert P Earley, Sr. and Mary (Walton) Earley. She was baptized in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church by the late Rev. T. J. McGhee where she was a lifelong member as well as one of the original Mt. Calvary Gospel Chorus Singers.

She worked for Community Action in Uniontown, PA for many years and volunteered in her community teaching children how to read. She also fostered over 50 children within her lifetime. She loved watching the Steelers and sometimes they even watched her. She always had a smile and a laugh that was contagious.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy (Jumbo) Jones, Jr. all of her siblings (Ruby, Loretta, Robert, Jr., Clifford and Joan). She leaves to mourn, Her three children Robert (Rhonda) Curry, Theresa Curry-Nicolette, and Clark (Fee) Curry. Two Adopted children, Jessica Curry-Jones and Janai Curry-Jones.

Also 5 step-siblings, Rev. Lynn G. Robinson, Bennetta Reid, Bruce H. Robinson, Verga Faye Cohill and Sidney Bush. There are also 10 grandchildren, two special nephews, Marcus and Gregory Earley, a special niece Esther Green Miller, a special friend Sharlene Marbury and an honorary daughter-in-love, Paula Marie as well as many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at the Lantz Funeral Home on Saturday, January 25, 2025, with viewing from 11AM-1PM. The funeral service will begin at 1PM.
