Lois Cowan

With much sadness, we announce the passing of Lois Ann Cowan, 63, of Uniontown, PA, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.  She was born September 6, 1960 in Uniontown, PA.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, William Theodore and Phyllis Wallace Cowan, and her brother, William Daniel Cowan.

Raised in Ronco, PA, Lois was full of love and light and brought joy to all who knew her.  Lois eventually became a resident of Uniontown under the care of Fayette Resources Inc. where she found purpose in working at Goodwill Industries, Inc. for a number of years. Once she was retired from Goodwill, she attended the day program at the ATF (Adult Training Facility) where she enjoyed various activities with her friends. Lois enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones, as well as traveling, singing, and eating good food. In her leisure time at home, she enjoyed listening to music on her iPad and watching cartoons from her favorite chair.

Lois is survived by her brother, David Cowan of Uniontown, PA; sister, Linda Cowan Jackson (Aubrey) and niece, India Jackson (Antonio) – all of Bowie, MD, and numerous other relatives and friends.  She will be greatly missed by many, especially the caring people at Fayette Resources, who loved and worked with her for many years.

Friends will be received at the LANTZ Funeral Home, Inc., 297 E. Main St., Uniontown, PA on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 10 AM. to 11 AM, the hour of service with Pastor Alfred L. Thompson, Jr. officiating.  Lois will be laid to rest at Mount Saint Macrina in Uniontown.
