Lashawna A. Rayford-Mcgifford

With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Crump and Mcgifford families announce the passing of their kind, caring, outgoing, and unimaginably generous daughter, sister, aunt ,step-mother, dog mommy, and niece, Lashawna Rayford Mcgifford.

Lashawna loved her family and would definitely go to war for them.

She was Born on January 21, 1997 in Tampa, FL in 1997.  She was such a flawless and outgoing young girl. Her life took a turn upon the passing of her father in 2012 followed by her sweet dog, Icess, and as a result, LaShawna’s whole world was changed. She continued to try to live a “normal” life but it was very hard for her. She fought many battles and most of those battles, she won. She was a fighter and she was never one to give-up .She was a very strong young lady. She moved to Pennsylvania in 2021 to try and change her surroundings and find a new beginning. She got another dog named Madussa, who literally was her everything--she loved that dog more than she loved herself. LaShawna lived with her Gram, Rebecca--she loved her gram sooo much. She got a good job in healthcare and it was “up” from there. She seemed like she was getting better with just life in general. Lashawna got her own place and was living the life she always wanted.  She was so proud of her accomplishments. We were all proud of her.

She leaves so many people’s hearts and minds full of beautiful memories. So many people loved her and appreciated her for being there for them even when she couldn’t help herself. Lashawna was a blessing to so many lives and her passing was a lesson in everyone’s life that surrounded her.

We love you Lashawna and we will forever cherish who you were and who you will continue to be in spirit.
