Kenneth Murray French, age 88, of Connellsville, passed away November 17, 2024. He was born on April 30, 1936, to the late Harry and Anna Meadows French.
Kenneth graduated from Connellsville High School where he played baseball, basketball and football. He attended Virginia Union University and was recruited by the Pittsburgh Pirates organization as a pitcher and spent time training in Jacksonville Florida. He married his beloved wife, Evelyn Washington, and they resided together in South Connellsville and raised their five children.
Kenneth was employed at Ames Department Store and was eventually promoted to manager. He also worked at Volkswagen for 10 years, until he retired. Kenneth loved spending his time barbequing for family and watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his siblings: Harry, Gloria, and Eileen; sons: Colin Michael French and Elliott Fallon French, and his son-in-law, Leonard Lincoln Jackson.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn, daughters Felecia Jackson, Annette Gale, son Kenneth “Chico” (Paula) French; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings: Donald French and Mary Ann French; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Friends will be received at the United Baptist Church, 126 N. First St., Connellsville, PA on December 5th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The funeral will begin at 12 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Green Ridge Memorial, 2901 Memorial Blvd, Connellsville, PA.
