Rev. Dr. Juliette Silva was born on July 22, 1948, in Billerica, Massachusetts. She was the middle daughter of eight children to the late Elbert G. and Isabelle Perry.
Rev. Dr. Juliette Silva, affectionately known as Julie throughout her life, was a single parent of two boys, Wesley and Kenneth Silva. She worked very hard keeping food on the table and a roof over their heads. She worked for years in the housekeeping field. She worked her way up to be head of housekeeping at the Customs House in Boston and at Massachusetts General Hospital until she moved with her boys (as she affectionately called them) to Cape Cod (Mashpee) Massachusetts in 1983. Julie was employed as the housekeeping manager at Shoreway Acres in Falmouth, Massachusetts. She was also a beloved teacher at two alternative schools in Wareham and Sandwich, Massachusetts.
As she battled with various struggles, mainly alcoholism, Julie came to know the Lord Jesus Christ in 1986 by way of the Pastors of First Pentecostal Church of Mashpee, MA--the late Elder Suffragan John D. Green and Evangelist Cynthia Green. Julie served faithfully along with working hard and raising two growing boys. The Word of God, prayer, and her love for Jesus Christ was very infectious along with her laugh and witty nature. Julie served PAW in Council, sang in choirs, and traveled faithfully to follow the call of God on her life. She always made sure that her boys never lacked for anything especially when it came to a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ.
Being a Holy Ghost-filled believer, Julie heard the call of God and answered as eagerly as she could. She pursued seminary and graduated with honors also while attending a secular school, Cape Cod Community College. She then earned her master’s degree in early childhood education. Later, she embarked upon following and ensuing the call of God. She attended James Dussault University in Columbia, SC and earned her doctoral degree in Biblical Studies where she, once again, was at the top of her class.
The same faith that led her to Christ and led her boys to Christ, eventually led them to Marianna, PA. At that point, she made a Clarion call to her boys to come closer to the call of God on their lives. For a short time, she established a ministry “ARC - Apostolic Recovery Church”, and Pastor Tim Lindsay of Arise Christian Fellowship performed the Inauguration Prayer and Sermon.
Rev. Dr. Juliette I. Silva quickly learned and understood her call was mainly of an evangelistic mantle. Pastor Dolly Sparks of Fellowship Mission in Grafton, WV, supported and prayed for Julia, while also encouraging her to Preach the gospel to every man, woman, boy, or girl--no matter their lifestyle. Rev. Dr. Juliette I. Silva always pointed others to Jesus Christ and beyond to The Kingdom of God.
Julie was given the affectionate nickname, “Momdukes”, by her boy’s friends. She always looked out, took care of, fed, clothed, housed, gave rides, and mothered any child with whom she came in contact. Julie’s smile, humor, and wit were unbelievably contagious. When she started laughing, most of life’s cares fell off of anyone she was around and everyone was better for it.
Julia is survived by her two sons: Pastor/Reverend Wesley J. Silva and his wife, Linda and Reverend Kenneth D. Silva, Sr. and his wife, Heather; grandchildren: Jeffery, Shequita, Jeree', Skylar, Xsanna, Xaivier, Nikko, Kaylia, Julian, Dalisha, Kaliana, Zerah, Kenneth Jr. and Ashlyn; great-grandchildren: Daniel, Cecilia, Lilliana, Knayalli, Jeffery Jr., Tahjanae, and Cheyenne; brothers: Kevin, Mark, Paul, and Gill Perry; and sisters: Tina, April, and Diane Perry.
