John Francis Kurilko, age 57, of Lemont Furnace, passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on December 22, 2023. He was born January 12, 1966, the son of Jack and Margaret Gashie Kurilko of Dilliner, PA.
John was preceded in death by his wife Marla Harris Kurilko. He is survived by his daughter Brianna “Peanut” Wilkins and grandson Jerry “J.J.” Wilkins—all of Butler, PA; parents; siblings: Mike and Tammy Kurilko of Dilliner, PA; special love, Darlene Dennis of Uniontown, PA, and other relatives and friends.
John graduated from Mapletown High School in 1984 and proudly served 6 honorable years in the United States Army. He worked for Advance Disposal and enjoyed putting together plastic model kits including tanks, helicopters, and military vehicles; he collected guns and like to go shooting. He also liked watching Nascar, football, and spending time with friends at the VFW Post 3514. He was hardworking and would ensure his home and family were warm by going out and cutting wood and securing coal in the winter. John also loved his little dog AJ. He most enjoyed spending time with his best buddy, his grandson, JJ and they would ride the lawnmower in the summer. He enjoyed wearing bandanas as a signature style statement was known to many.
John Francis Kurilko will be deeply missed by all who knew him for he left behind a legacy of love and kindness that will never be forgotten.
Friends are invited to attend the memorial service at LANTZ Funeral Home, Inc., 297 E. Main St., Uniontown, PA on Friday, January 19th at 1:00 PM.
