Gloria Anne Collins, age 82, of Uniontown, PA passed away at her home with her family by her side on July 7, 2024. She was born November 18, 1941, in East Millsboro, PA to the late Onie Willie Mae Calloway and James Stoudemire.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 10 years, Bennie H. Collins, Sr.; brother, David H. Calloway; sisters: Jean H. Calloway and Gracie Lena Hawkins, step-daughters: Kity Hodge and Ruth A. Collins; sons: Bennie H. Collins, Jr. and Floyd R. Calloway; daughter, Shirley Anderson, and grandchildren: Jomanda Grooms, William D. Calloway, Dewayne Calloway, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters: Willie Mae Calloway, Gloria Ann Collins Albert, and Sherise Collins—all of Uniontown; sons: Dewayne Calloway, Aaron Collins, and Walter Collins; siblings: Emmit (Tazuko) Calloway, James R. Calloway, Floyd W. (Sharon) Calloway, Gerald A. Calloway, Lenora Calloway, Calinda D. Lee, Lucy B. Calloway, and Ida Rae Calloway; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and many who called her “Ma”.
She was a member of Mt. Rose Baptist church for over 40 years and sang with the choir. She was known to attend many church functions when she was able. Miss Calloway, as she was affectionately known, loved to bake and was well known for her homemade rolls, sweet potato pies, and her famous pineapple glazed cakes. Her fried chicken was second to none.
Friends will be received at the LANTZ Funeral Home, Inc., 297 E. Main St., Uniontown, PA on Tuesday, July 30th from 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be July 31st at 11 AM. Interment will immediately follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Brownsville, PA.
