Esther Augustina (Howard) Hadley

Esther Augustina Howard Hadley, age 105, of Grace Manor in Allison Park, PA died August 11, 2024, in the Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born January 25,1919, in Brownsville, PA (the oldest of five children) to the late William L. Howard and Rose Lee Colmes.

Esther received her education in the Brownsville, PA school system. At age 18 she joined the Rose Midget Revue in New York City where she performed as a dancer and singer. Esther was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist church, Brownsville, PA.

In addition to her parents, Esther is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Leonard (Nicky) Thomas, and siblings: William “Billy” Howard and Rev. Nathaniel “Bobby” Walker, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings: Minnie Walker Bert of CT and Phyllis Walker Stevenson (Mack) of Pittsburgh, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Friends will be received at the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 423 Baltimore St, Brownsville, PA on Saturday, August 24,2024 from 10 AM to 12 PM. The funeral will begin at 12 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Lafayette Memorial Park in Brier Hill, PA.
