Elizabeth Owens, age 84, of Brownsville, PA passed away on April 13, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. She was born May 7, 1942, to the late William and Hattie Lucille (Rutland) Stokes in Brownsville.
Elizabeth was a loving mother. Although she was a private person who kept to herself, she enjoyed bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and mother, and she enjoyed TV shows featuring Steve Harvey.
Elizabeth retired from Cherry Tree Nursing Center in Uniontown and prior to her position there, she employed as a Buggy operator in the coal mines.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Owens; son, Jeffrey Stokes; sisters: Erma “Jean” Dates Stokes and Norma Williams; and her beloved dog, Patches.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Kenneth Poole, Jr. and his fiance’, Andrea; grandchildren: Kenneth Poole, Jr., Kennita Tomlin, Terrel Thomas, and Tara Thomas;
and great-grandchildren: Kai, Kamiyah, and Zayden.
