Elaya D. (Chandler) Ford

Elaya Danyell (Chandler) Ford, age 37, of Uniontown, PA, went home to rest on June 13, 2024. She was born April 22, 1987, in Washington, PA to Michelle Chandler and Oliver Fitzgerald.

She is preceded in death by her step-daughter, Mary Ford; maternal grandparents, James Matthew and Barbara Jean (Vaden) Chadler; and paternal grandparents, Melvin Copney and Dorothy Fitzgerald.

Elaya attended John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church in Uniontown and was employed as a Home Health Aide.

In addition to her parents, Elaya is survived by her husband, Hyson Ford, of Uniontown; children: Ta’Aliyah Fields, Tatianna Grooms, Trenton Grooms, and Tavon Ford--all of Uniontown; step-children: Kionna (Tyree) Ford of Fairchance, Isaiah Ford, Hyson Ford, Jr., Taliah Ford, Shawn Retcofsky Ford, and Krissa Ford—all of Uniontown, and Destiny Richards of Republic, PA; grandchildren; siblings: Dontae Chandler and Jamar Jones of Washington, PA, Alexis Ross and Donta Ross of Tempe, AZ, and Kiarra “BB” Birchfield of Austintown, OH; mother-in-law, Regina Ford of Uniontown; sister-in-laws: Shatika and Leegina Ford of Uniontown; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held at John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church, 349 E. Main St., Uniontown, PA on Monday, July 1st from 11 AM – 12 PM. The memorial service will begin at 12 noon, with Rev. Richard Calloway, eulogizing.

Services are entrusted to the LANTZ Funeral Home, Inc., 297 E. Main St., Uniontown, PA.
