It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorval DeWayne Davis, Sr., a lifelong resident of Edenborn, Pennsylvania; born on September 19, 1952, to the late Mary Elizabeth Davis and Murth Davis. Dorval departed this life peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved family following a brief, but valiant, battle with leukemia.
Dorval was a 1972 graduate of German Township High School, after which he embarked on a long and rewarding career as a coal miner--dedicating 39 years to his trade while proudly representing UMWA Local 2300. His work was not just a job but a testament to his enduring commitment to providing for his family and contributing to the community he loved so dearly.
A devoted husband, Dorval shared nearly 50 beautiful years with his wife, Sharon "Toni" Hale Davis of McClellandtown, Pennsylvania. Together, they built a life of love, faith, and family. He was a loving father to their three children: Toni Lynn Hale of McClellandtown, PA, Dorval D. Davis, Jr. (wife, Margaret) of Clarksburg, WV, and Javon D. Davis, Sr. (wife, Candace Byrd Davis) of Uniontown, PA.
He is also survived by his dear sister, Maryann Williams (husband, Dale) of McClellandtown, PA; his brother-in-law and best friend, Ralph "Ben" Hale--who introduced Dorval to the love of his life 50 years ago, and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him deeply.
Dorval's legacy will live on in the hearts of his cherished grandchildren: Shariyka Hale (Derek Minor) of Connellsville, PA, NaLeesha Hale of Masontown, PA, Javon Davis, Jr. and Jiovoni Davis of Uniontown, PA, and Catherine Jamison and Durrell Davis of Clarksburg, WV; great-grandchildren: Jaeceon Hale & Delanie Minor of Connellsville, PA, and Zion Hale of Masontown, PA—they will continue to be touched by the light of his spirit.
Dorval was a man of deep faith and unwavering love, not only for his family but for his community and friends. His memory will be forever cherished by all those fortunate enough to have known him. His warmth, strength, and wisdom will remain a guiding presence in the lives of those he leaves behind.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life on Wednesday, September 25th, at Lantz Funeral Home, 297 E Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401, with visitation from 11 AM to 1 PM, followed by funeral services at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Green Dale Cemetery in Masontown, PA, where Dorval will be laid to rest, joining the generations of loved ones who have gone before him.
In this time of sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Dorval is now at peace, embraced by the eternal love of his Heavenly Father, as he watches over his family from above.
