Dorothy Lorraine Marilla Mockabee of Richmond, Virginia passed away on October 29, 2024. She was born on January 19, 1924, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania to the late Daniel and Molly (Tanzy) Marilla. Dorothy was proceeded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Cornelius (Nee) Mockabee. In addition, she was proceeded in death by her daughter, Doris (Ernest-deceased) and her siblings: Eva, Mynolia, Gladys, James, Paul, and Ralph.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Patty (Richard-deceased) White, Lorraine (Lamont) Harris, Nancy (Bonner) Murrell, and Janice (Eric) Cunningham. She has 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dorothy was an avid sports fan and fierce competitor when playing cards and Scrabble. She loved gardening.

Before Dorothy moved to Richmond, Virginia to live with her daughter, Janice and her son-in-law, Eric Cunningham, she was a member of the Eastern Star and a faithful member of Payne A.M.E. Church in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. She worked tirelessly as a Trustee and Missionary and on other positions and committees. Dorothy played a significant role in Payne's Election Day Dinners, known especially for her famous rolls and apple pies.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lantz Funeral Home, 297 E. Main Street, Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Henry Robinson officiating. Interment will be at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, PA.
