Donald Owens, Sr.

Donald Owens, Sr., age 79, of Brownsville, PA passed away on September 24, 2024, at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born June 18, 1945, to the late James and Katherine (Owens) Woodson in Brownsville.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Stokes and siblings: Ralph Owens and Linda Owens.

Donald served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. Donald worked as a health aide at the former Mayview State Hospital in Pittsburgh, and he later was employed as a steel worker for J&L Steel in Monessen, PA. He was a baseball fan and even umpired local games. He also enjoyed watching basketball and football, and he was a Steelers fan.

Donald is survived by his Wife, Elizabeth (Stokes) Owens of Brownsville; son, Kenneth Poole of Brownsville; several grandchildren; nephew, Tony Owens of West Virginia, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends will be received at the LANTZ Funeral Home, Inc., 297 E. Main St., Uniontown, PA on Tuesday, October 8th from 10-11:30 AM. The funeral will begin at 11:30 AM. Internment will immediately follow at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
