Darwin Linn Ramsey, age 59, of Uniontown, PA slipped from time while surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 6, 2025, to embrace eternity in the presence of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior.
He was born to the late Addie Barbara Houston on September 13, 1965, in Uniontown. In his early youth, Darwin AKA “Prune” loved percussions and played drums for the East End United Community Center’s Marching Drill Band. Like his mother, Darwin was a natural born athlete, and he excelled in several sports. He was a pole vaulter at LaFayette Junior high school and a legendary athlete in high school. He played football and adorned the number “22” as one of the best point guards on the Uniontown Area High School Red Raiders basketball team. Darwin’s reputation preceded him. He had an outgoing personality and the ability to make friends no matter where life carried him. Darwin never met a stranger.
In 1984, Darwin graduated from Uniontown Area High School and enlisted in the United States Army. As a young adult, he laid roots and established his professional life in the DMV area. He was employed at the Federal Protection Service in Washington D.C. and earned the rank of Captain. He later changed careers and was employed as an Admissions Advisor for both VMT Education Center in Washington D.C. and TESST College of Technology in Silver Spring, MD.
