Darlene (Cunningham) Spence

Darlene Spence, 69, of Fairchance, PA passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024 with her loving daughters by her side.

She was born July 12, 1955 in Uniontown, PA to the late Hazel Shanton and Herbert Nichols and graduated from German Township High School in 1973.

Darlene worked many years as a laborer with Allegheny Power at the Hatfield's Ferry Power Station. She was known for bringing delicious food to her coworkers, and they were like family. Darlene was a previous member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Leckrone, PA where she served as the church clerk and sang in the choir for many years. She also loved reading, jazz music, cooking, and spending time with her family. She took tremendous pride in being a mother and grandmother.

Preceding her in death is husband, Roderick "Butch" Spence, sister Veneda Dotson, and two brothers, Douglas Nathaniel and Charles Earnest Cunningham. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters; Kaysha Spence of Detroit, MI; Shawn Spence of Leckrone, PA; Dawn Spence of Leckrone, PA; god-child Jan`et Robinson; sisters Hazel Dotson and Andrea Skiles; grandchildren Taylor Spence, Cornelius Dotson, Peyton Moore, and Ava Spence; her great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends Viola Hall, Nokomis Lee, and "C.C."
