On the night of January 3, 2026, Constance "Connie" Douglas, peacefully transitioned to an eternal life of peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Scripture in 2nd Corinthians 5:8 tells us "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." She is now resting in peace in her Heavenly home.
Connie was preceded in death by her son, Barry Douglas; daughter-in-law, Jamie Douglas; mother, Rebecca Berry Douglas; father, John Allen McQueen; sisters: Kathleen Reed and Lois Douglas-Davis; best friend/niece, Beverly Douglas, and brothers: Elston Douglas, Bruce Douglas, and Walter McKeithan.
Connie was the youngest daughter of Rebecca Berry Douglas and John Allen McQueen, born on October 24, 1951, in Allison, PA. She was a graduate of Brownsville Area High School Class of 1969. She then relocated to Washington, DC and began working in civil service. After a few years, Connie returned to Allison, PA to raise her daughter, Terri, and embraced the journey of motherhood by welcoming her three boys: Geoff, Barry, and Charlie.
Connie raised her children in Brownsville, PA. She enjoyed cooking and being with family. She had a love for music, regularly listening to Patti Labelle, Tupac, and her beloved Teddy Pendergrass. She also enjoyed card games, especially a good Ole Family game of Pokeno. Her later years were marked by love, family, and the care she strived to give to her youngest five grandchildren.
Connie leaves to mourn her passing, her three children, Terri Douglas-Woodall (Michael), Geoffrey Douglas, and Charles Bush; nieces: Kendra Davis, Sally Smith, Rendie Settles, Donna McKeithan, Janet Janifer, and Alisha Hill; nephews: Reggie Douglas (Valerie), Eddie Douglas, Bruce Douglas Jr., Devin Douglas, Branden Douglas (Brittany), Anthony Settles, Elston Settles, and Dayton Settles; grandchildren, Geoffrey Douglas, Sequoia Douglas, Cynseir Douglas, Misgo Douglas, Lovey Douglas, Unique King (Jacob), Jasmin Scott, Charles Douglas, Taylor Douglas, Khalif Robinson, Nyree Douglas, Morgan Douglas, Tyler Mayer, and Jazaya Douglas; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.
Connie will be remembered for her quiet and giving nature, subtle sense of humor, and most of all, the love and dedication to her youngest son, whom she fondly referred to as "My Buddy", Charlie.
