Carmen (Capozza) Jenkins passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025. She was born to Carl and Lillian (Stout) Capozza in 1944, the second of five children.
In 1969, Carmen married her husband, James "Jinks" Jenkins. Together, they raised two children, Jeffrey A. Jenkins I and Nicole "Nikki" L. (Jenkins) Broome. They loved to travel and make memories with family. Carmen and "Jinks" remained married until his death in 2011.
Carmen was a registered nurse by profession and for many years, worked as a certified diabetes educator at various hospitals. She was respected by many for her significant knowledge and dedication to equipping caregivers and those living with diabetes.
In addition to caring for her family, Carmen visited residents in various local nursing homes, enjoyed discussing politics, and was active in different campaigns.
Carmen was a member of City Chapel for many years. She loved the Lord and did a personal Bible study daily. She was a loving wife, mother, protective grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be sorely missed.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James "Jinks" Jenkins, her brother Carl Angelo Capozza, and a nephew, Vincent Capozza. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted children, Jeff and Nicole; grandchildren Jeffrey, Laila, Jada, Lauren, and Jaden; great-grandchildren Alanni, Malia, and S'Kara. She is also survived by her siblings, Isabelle (Capozza) Taylor, Janet (Capozza) Jones, and W. Joseph Capozza (Janet). Carmen also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Carolyn Capozza, Paula Jenkins, Robbie Robinson, and Karen Gonsalves; several nieces and nephews and a beloved relationship with the Saavedra family.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Lantz Funeral Home, Uniontown, Pa. Viewing and Service will be held on Friday, May 16. Viewing hours 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with service beginning promptly at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mt. Macrina Cemetery.
