Calvin “Tooter” Reid

Calvin “Tooter” Reid passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. He was born to the late Calvin Reid, Sr., and the late Elizabeth Dunkin on October 26, 1950 and raised by his mother, the late Sally Thomas in Republic, PA.

Tooter served in the United States Army. He was a kind man who was always willing to be of service to his community. He had a warm smile and was loved by many.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters: Erma Jean Thomas and Loretta Mae Tinsley; brother, Richard Thomas; aunts: Wanda Ford, Nette Riley; uncles: James Thomas, Donnie Thomas, Arley Thomas, Glenn Thomas, Charles Thomas; nephews: Anson Thomas and Dwight Tinsley, nieces Darlene Tinsley and Christy Thomas.

Tooter is survived by his son, Calvin Jason Reid, Sr.; grandchildren: Calvin Jason Reid, Jr. and DeShawn Jay Reid; uncles: Donald Thomas and Paul (Mary) Thomas; aunt, Audrey Boon; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Friends will be received at the LANTZ Funeral Home, Inc., 297 E. Main St, Uniontown, PA on Friday, June 4th from 3:00 PM - 5 PM  

A private funeral service with military honors will be held on Friday morning. His interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
