Calvin Davenport passed away from this life on the morning of September 23, 2025, in Uniontown Hospital after a decline in health. He was born October 17,1934, in Uniontown, PA to the late Robert and Emma (Thompson) Davenport.
Calvin lived in Uniontown until 1952 when he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He completed four years of service and was honorably discharged in 1956. During his enlistment, Calvin was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. He migrated to Cleveland,OH where he met his loving wife, Nella Davenport, and they were inseparable for over 20 years. He held a variety of jobs in Ohio and was employed at White Motors as a mechanic, University Circle as a Parking Attendant, and Richland Mall as a Security Attendant before his retirement.
Calvin was a loving, caring, and giving man who loved his family.
He was the last surviving patriarch of the Davenport Family and will truly be missed.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Grace McLee, of Churchill, PA and sister, Marcella Davenport King, of West Virginia.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; 12 siblings: Viola Elizabeth Davenport Martin, Theodore “Brew” Davenport, Charles Henry “Okey” Davenport, Grace Mae Davenport, Emma Davenport Wimbish, Mildred J. “Millie” Davenport Johnson Thomas, Dorothy Davenport Hunt, Alice “Addie” Davenport, Betty Elizabeth Davenport, Edna Rosetta “Imp” Davenport White, Henry Davenport, and Shirley Jean Davenport Bradley; step-son, DeWayne Mosely; and his former deceased wife, Awilda McLee Davenport.
He was blessed and affectionately called Uncle Calvin by a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews. He had cousins and other beloved family and friends that were dear to him, and close friends: Barbara Gray, Wendy Adrine, and Kevin Heuston, of Cleveland who nicknamed him Kali-Cal, Curtis, Curt, and Couch.
Calvin devoted his life to Christ and was a committed member of The Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. E. Theophilus, Senior Pastor. He loved his church family members. Calvin will truly be missed by all. He has taken his last ride and is on his way to Heaven.
Interment will be on Wednesday, October 15th at 2:00 at:
