Arlene Tarpley of Fairchance, PA departed this life on July 7, 2019 at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born in Fairchance, PA to the late Marguerite (Banks) Mickens and Aaron “Doc” Mickens.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Matthew D. Tarpley, Jr. And son, Jeffrey Wayne Tarpley; four brothers: Robert, Richard, Kenneth “Pete”, and Melvin; three sisters: Christine Fitzgerald, Eleanor Chandler, and Lillian Mickens.
Arlene was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Fairchance, PA; a former member of Mt Calvary’s Mass and Gospel Choir; and was a part of a singing group called the Angelics. This group traveled and sang their praises unto our Lord and Savior all throughout Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, and West Virginia. Arlene also traveled across the United States with her traveling bowling team. In addition, she enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters; cooking and playing cards.
Arlene leaves to cherish her memories; two loving sons: Cedric (Patricia) Tarpley and their children: Chad, Demetrick, and Mario; Maurice Tarpley and his children: Tammy and Victor Maurice; brothers: Ronald “Apple Jack”; sister Lois Fairfax; grandchildren: Waynette, Chad, Victor, Tammy, Demetrick, Mario, and Jeffrey “Wishes”; great-grandchildren: Keyonna, Torrie “TJ”, Amira, D-Marion, Justice, Miki, Noah, Jada and Sophia; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives and friends.
Friends will be received at The LANTZ Funeral Home, Inc., 297 E. Main St, Uniontown, PA on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the hour of service with Rev. Gary Yarbrough.
