Anthony Jerrod Johnson

Anthony Jarrod Johnson, 46, of New Castle passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. 

Born August 24, 1971 in Aliquippa, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Janet Brewer Johnson. He was married on June 7, 1997 to Sonya Mathews Johnson.

Anthony was a 1989 graduate of Aliquippa High School. He studied Communications at California University of Pa. and received his Bachelor Degree in Public Health from Slippery Rock University of Pa. He also was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

Anthony meant the world to his family and he is already missed immensely. No words could ever express how he loved his family. He was an amazing father, husband, friend, fraternity brother and human being. Anthony filled his family’s days with joy, laughter and plenty of sarcasm. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Sonya; and daughter Tatyana both of New Castle. Also surviving is one sister: Jarita (Darrell) Core of Atlanta; mother-in-law, Shirl Mathews and brother-in-law, Andrew Mathews- both of New Castle; one nephew, Nasir Johnson of Atlanta; one great-niece, Jaylah Rascoe of Ambridge, Pa; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
