|To The Family of Robert Douglas Washington, Sr.;
There isn’t any way to prepare for the loss of a family member. Suddenly, the loved one you had always turned to is gone. In the quiet moments when the hurt is hard to bear, may love become your shelter and may the beauty of memories become comfort.
You have the condolences of the members of St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church as you make your way through this passage. It won’t be easy, but you can rely on the support of all your friends and church family. May you be filled with faith and hope even in the midst of inescapable grief, and find comfort in and with each other. Robert will be missed by everyone.
Words cannot adequately express our sympathy, but know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Robert must have been a remarkable person. Just look around at his family and friends that are here to celebrate his life and his Home Going service.
“Don’t’ weep at my grave, for I am not there,
Ive a date with a butterfly to dance in the air.
I’ll be singing in the sunshine, wild and free,
Playing tag with the wind, while I’m waiting for thee”
In His Service Always,
Rev. Alfred L. Thompson, Jr.
And the members of St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church

Words truly can not express our emotions for you in this time of sorrow. Know that our thoughts are with you even though we are unable to physically be present. We do rejoice that “Bob and Dee” are now home together again. We will always remember the times spent together on that hillside....a home filled with love, joy and warmth.
