Jaxis Arya Richardson, age 2, of Uniontown, PA passed away on February 13, 2018 at home with her parents by her side.  She was an amazing little girl who was adored by her parents.  She was so very brave and happy despite her life long battle with cancer, and she rarely cried or complained.  She was fun-loving and curious, and she loved to laugh and play with her favorite characters: Elsa and Anna of Frozen, Dory of Finding Nemo, Doc McStuffins, and Disney’s Moana.  Jaxis was an intelligent, brave, and strong little girl who was loved so very much by her family and those who knew her.  During her short time here on earth, she touched the lives of many people and was an inspiration to both young and old.

Jaxis is the daughter of Kashmear Guthrie and Bernard Richardson, both of Uniontown, PA and was born on February 25, 2015.

She is predeceased by her great-grandparents, Zadie May Richardson, Bernard Richardson, and Bouregard Jones.

Jaxis leaves beautiful memories for her family and friends to cherish including her parents, siblings: Iy’Layah, Ki’Dandre, Cease, Tae-Quann, Tae-Vian, Tae-Maura, Righteous, Nakyah, and Zaylie Richardson; grandparents: Sheri Jones, Bernard Richardson, and Tonya Lenhart (Terry); great-grandparents: Dell Marie Jones, and Jane and Roger Lenhart; special aunt, Rita Wolfe who helped to care for her; uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives.

A special thank you goes out to the numerous staff members at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Fayette County Home Care and Hospice, and the Community Care Agency for their compassionate care for Jaxis.

To the Family of Jaxis Arya Richardson;

There isn’t any way to prepare for the loss of a family member. Suddenly, the loved one you had always turned to is gone. In the quiet moments when the hurt is hard to bear, may love become your shelter and may the beauty of memories become your comfort.

You have the condolences of the members of St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church as you make your way through this passage. It won’t be easy, but you can rely on the support of all your friends and church family. May you be filled with faith and hope even in the midst of inescapable grief, and find comfort in and with each other. Jaxis will be missed by everyone.

Words cannot adequately express our sympathy, but know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Jaxis must have been a remarkable person. Just look around at her family and friends that are here to celebrate her life and her Home Going Service.

“Don't weep at my grave, for I am not there,
I've a date with a butterfly to dance in the air.
I'll be singing in the sunshine, wild and free,
Playing tag with the wind, while I'm waiting for thee.”

In His Service Always,

Rev. Alfred L. Thompson
And The Members of St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church
